ATS conducts training programs for the United States Armed Forces and the Private Sector
After several years of being in the PT6 overhaul business it became apparent that if there was anything our customers lacked it was knowledge of the basic scientific principles of turbine operation. Our PT6 Familiarization Course teaches these principles utilizing practical examples that students are quick to grasp and retain.
We guarantee what you learn in our seminars will help you achieve the maximum functional and financial potential of the PT6, whether you are flying behind (or between) one (two) or turning wrenches for someone who does. Example course topics include:
- Basic “free turbine” architecture and operation
- The “cold” and “hot” sections, air flow and the gas path
- Where the power comes from
- Hot Section Inspection
- Cockpit indications and discrepancies
- Routine maintenance practices and Engine performance monitoring
- Maintenance intervals and scheduling
Our course is approved by the FAA for IA renewal. Many insurance companies recognize FAA approved courses such as ours for recurrent training. Additionally, several aircraft owner/pilot associations and organizations also give credit for our course. All attendees who complete the course receive a signed certificate of completion. The certificate is stamped with the IA holders license (if applicable) and the FAA approved course number.
Mr. Jerry (J.D.) Dunson directs the training programs for our company. J.D. has logged over 18,000 hours of flight time during his career and has operated and maintained PT6A engines for over 30 years.
